The California based retail development company CenterCal plans a new mega mall for Riverton. The 85-acre retail complex called Mountain View Place at Riverton will be located at the northeastern corner of 13400 South and Mountain View Corridor (about 4800 West) on what is currently open farmland. Plans have already been passed by Riverton’s Planning Commission and the company’s master plan now goes before the City Council.

The new development will be based on Farmington’s very successful Station Park (another CenterCal property). The 62 acre Station Park Property is located adjacent to the UTA commuter rail station, Interstate 15, Highway 89, and the Legacy Highway. Upon completion, the property will comprise over 1.2M square feet of Class A office, restaurant, retail, service providers, along with a cutting-edge-14 screen theatre.

Just like Station Park the new Riverton center is envisioned as a mix of shopping outlets, restaurants, offices, a hotel, movie theaters and village like public spaces, all perched on the suburban city’s western border with Herriman.

If CenterCal’s plan is approved by the City Council, work will begin sometime in 2016, with the first major buildings appearing in the spring of 2017.
